Happy Birthday!

Love is now 4!  How fast time goes!

Having a party next weekend with family so just made a small cake today.
He wanted a train so we did the Brownie Train Cake.

Brownies, swiss cake rolls, oreos, m&m's and some frosting to hold it together.  Super simple and easy for a 2 & 4 year old to help make.

Egg Carton Bats

After seeing this on Happy Clippings I thought it would be a good one for the kids.

What you need:
Egg carton
Paint
Google Eyes
Ribbon

To make:
Cut out 3 egg spots
Cut the end ones to look like wings
Paint it
Add the eyes after it dries
Attach ribbon - I poked holes in the top instead of just attaching it with glue.  I thought it might hold better with 2 little ones playing with it.

Love wanted to paint his orange because he said it was a fruit bat.  He says he learned that on Go Diego Go.  Bug wanted to do orange too but wanted to put her bats eyes off to the side.  They are definitely unique bats but I love them!

Kids Books

Picked up some new books at the library.  I thought that these ones were really cute.

Such a good story and I love that it rhymes.

Big trucks and a cute cat or dog on each page, what little kid doesn't like that?

The kids always love Olivia and this book doesn't disappoint.

Book: The Help

I'd been wanting to read The Help by Kathryn Stockett ever since hearing about it and I finally got the chance.

It is a really wonderful book.  Definitely one that I didn't want to put down.

Tugger - A Hidden Gem

Tugger: The Jeep 4x4 Who Wanted to Fly is a great kids movie.  I stumbled upon it at the library and Love wanted to check it out.  He loves anything that deals with cars, trains etc so I figured he would like this one too, but he LOVED it.  After watching he said it is one of his favorites.  I only saw bits and pieces while doing laundry but from what I saw it is really cute and has a nice story.

We also checked out Back to School with Franklin.  I don't think you can ever go wrong with Franklin.  The kids always like the show and it always has a good message.
