Friday Five

Five Great Things

1.  Hinterland

Even with the location being moved at the last minute we took the kids and had such a great time.  Mostly wanted to see Old Crow Medicine Show and Yonder Mountain String Band but enjoyed it all especially Brandi Carlile.

2.  Beautiful sunrise

3.  Motley Crue

Saw them on their final tour, it has been a musical week for us.

4.  Kids

They've been at grandma and grandpas for a few days, get to see them today!

5. Homemade Potato Bread

So good!  I've made this several times now and am never disappointed.
You can find the recipe at The Goldilocks Kitchen.

Friday Five

Five Things I Love This Week

1.  Double Dexter by Jeff Lindsey
I have watched the show but this is the first book I read. Great read, really fast paced.

2.  The humidity has gone away for a few days!!!!

3.  Fresh green beans from the garden
So tasty

4.  Watching the baby deer in the backyard.

5.  Energy!!!
My Ankylosing Spondylitis has been zapping my energy all week.  Luckily today it feels like it is coming back.  I even got a short workout in.  So much better that feeling like I need a nap after cooking dinner or even walking a few steps.

Tooth Fairy Pillow

Noticed T had a very wobbly tooth the other day so I made a quick little pillow for when it does fall out.

What to do With an Old Toddler Sheet

I had an old toddler bed sheet and I knew I wanted to do something with it so I finally decided to make a flag banner for Love's room.

I printed the flag template found here but I wanted my flags to be bigger.

So I flipped over my paper and drew my own.  I then cut out the flag template.
Then place your template on your material where you want to cut and lightly trace with a pencil around the flag.

Here you can lightly see the pencil marks.  I then cut them out with regular scissors and then went around the edges with pinking shears.

Pick a ribbon for the top and pin the flags to it.

Sew from one end all the way to the other.  I left some extra ribbon hanging out on each side to hang it on the wall.

Iron the material if you haven't all ready.

Then hang it up!

Circle Painting

I needed something on the wall in our master bedroom so I went to Michael's and picked up a couple canvasses.  This is what I came up with.  It is super easy and will take about 15 minutes with drying time.

Our bedroom is brown and blue so that's what I went with.
Start by radomly painting the brown circles.
Let that dry.
Then paint the blue circles inside the brown ones.

Let dry, hang on wall and you are finished!
